Multipurpose Building in Rousínov

The basis of this bachelor‘s thesis is the architectural study completed in summer semester of the second year of my bachelor’s studies. The theme was to design reconstruction of the former post office and to design extension of a new multipurpose building. The location of the former post office and new extension is on the east side of Sušilovo Square in Rousinov, in Vyškov district. The idea was to combine appropriately former post office in baroque style with new extension. The former post office is on the list of cultural monuments of Czech Republic and is being dilapidated. During the reconstruction was designed some functional and layout changes and it was also necessary to replace the existing mansard roof, because of decaying insects. The new extension is a paraphrase of the classic rural gabled houses in minimalist‘s style and harmoniously complements Sušilovo Square. These 2 buildings will be linked by building connection with a flat roof, due to a operational purposes. Among the buildings is designed the half-atrium space, based on the historical context and offers a pleasant space to rest. In the former post office is designed a new housing, tourist information center with exhibition space. At the extension is situated a cafe on the ground floor with wonderful view towards Sušilovo Square and towards half-atrium space. Culture hall is located on the first floor with sanitary facilities for guests.The adjacent park on the east side of the former post office keeps the original trees and encourages passers-by to rest.

Storage hall No. 2 in Rousínov - construction-technological project

The subject of my diploma thesis is a construction-technological solution for realization of a storage hall in Rousínov. The work deals with a time and financial plan for all buildings of the project Storage Hall, Rousínov. A technical report, a study of the implementation of the construction’s individual stages, a design and assessment of transport routes, a design of the construction site equipment and a design of the machinery were prepared for the building No. 2. An itemized budget with a statement of acreage and construction schedule was prepared. A technological regulation and a control and test plan were prepared for the implementation process of the wire-reinforced concrete industrial floor. Within the diploma thesis, a technological regulation for the implementation of a reinforced concrete retaining wall was prepared. Noise pollution caused by the construction site was examined and evaluated in a noise study. The environmental requirements for the storage hall building No. 2 were processed.

Diploma project solves renovation of campus SOU Rousínov. Campus is situated in wide city centre of Rousínov. Campus is composed of five connected buildings. Project brings new functions such as primary school, library, old people´s home and coffee-house. One aim of project is urban revitalization and creation of area for leisure time activities. Architectural aim is to create campus with uniform character. Buildings are specific in shape simplicity. Connecting element is also colour unity of main volumes with coloured emphasizing of details and structures.

Restoration of old mail Rousínov

The project of The Reconstruction of the Former Post Office in Rousinov is located in the centre of the city Rousinov at Susilovo namesti, approximatelly 20 km east of Brno. The new objective is contemporary tourist accommodation - hostel. As a part of this project, there is the existing historic building in the style of Baroque era on one side, which is reconstructed and reused, and the newly constructed building, which is used as cafeteria and reception. These buildings are connected by a glass passage way with winter indoor garden that can be entirely opened to the exterior during the summer season. The construction of the historic building is mostly current with a few changes in floor plan. The wooden construction of the mansard roof will be replaced by a system of modern wooden timber roof trusses, preserving the current exterior shape of the roof. The construction of the new building is made of concrete bricks in the underground level and a part of the above ground level. The distinctive element is the glass construction, using stainless steel support system and double insulated glass. From the architectural point of view, the current design of the historic building will be maintained with the distinctive mansard roof, cornices, chambranles round windows and window grid pattern 2 x 3. As well as that, the new building respects the old landmark according to it’s dimensions and floor plan. The newly constructed building doesn’t rival the old one, on the other hand it appears to be lighter and more elegant.

The Reconstruction of the Old Post Building in Rousínov

The theme of the bachelor’s thesis is the reconstruction of the building of the former Post Office on the square in Rousínov, and its adjacent extension. This project originates from a studio project elaborated in the summer semester of the second grade of the bachelor’s study. In the past there was a post office, telegraph and telephone switchboard on the second floor. On the first floor there was a flat and some shops. In the front facade there was a barber Svoboda, collection of cloths and bones, staircase to the second floor and dwellings for poor. In previous time there were twelve hired soldiers with a their sergeant accommodated. The building remained unused for a long time, which affected the current technical condition. Nowadays it is impossible to use the building for the same purpose as in the past. For that reason it is necessary to find a new functional utilization. The building itself is rather small, of a simple rectangle ground plan. Along with the church and repaired old townhall it forms important places on the square of Rousínov. Taking into consideration the building location the information center, services for public, ie. hairdresser, beauty care, manicure, pedicure is designed on the first floor. On the second floor there are premises to be let for administrative purposes. In the attic there are social premises, such as projection hall or premises for family celebrations or business meetings. An important requirement was to keep the character of baroque‘s features – moulding, window holes, attic roof and broken arcs, arcades in the interior. The newly designed building consists of two parts – connecting glass passageway and a building used as an exhibition hall with public toilets. Due to lack of public and social events in the town Rousínov, on the first floor of the new building there is a sport’s center designed with two multipurposes halls, massages and a reception desk. The main aim of this master thesis was to find a key usage of decaying girls' and boys' hall of residence on the premises of the ZŠ and ISŠ school in Rousínov, which is located in a complex of terraced family houses, situated 100 metres south from the town square and to integrate it with both school organism and town surroundings. The former hall of residence will provide space for student community center with public library and a new building of a single-storey house with arcade connecting the sport, cultural, catering and relaxing facilities and also Tyršova and Za Záložnou streets. The roof of the new building will become a school square with the view of the main dominant feature of the town – St. Mary Magdalena church. The access to the square is possible both from the arcade and newly reconstructed buildings and also from the elementary school building. The streets of a whole complex will be decorated with greenery, student gardens for fruit trees and crops and with a parking space for the visitors of library and other public places.

Rousínov Bypass - Location Study

The article of this bachelor’s thesis is the location study of a by-pass road for the existing II/430 road which passes through the urban area of Rousínov. This is considered for lowering the traffic intensity together with related lowering the negative affects of traffic and rise of safety. The result of this thesis is the elaboration of 5 variants with one ofthem selected for more detailed elaboration.
